Every time I see people arguing about who the greatest of all time is in a particular sport, I laugh. This is because, there’s no objective metric to determine the greatest of all time in a sport since we don’t know what would happen in the future and we can’t compare different eras since the conditions were different. However, when we look at humanity in its entirety, we realise that without an iota of doubt, there’s a single person who is undisputedly the greatest of us all. This person is none other than our Noble Prophet, Muhammad ﷺ. I am proud to be his follower and humble lover.
He was born on a Monday in the month of Rabiul Awwal in the
year of the elephant (571CE). He was sent as a mercy to mankind. He was the
quintessence of upright character and nobility. He was the light sent to extinguish
the darkness of disbelieve. How can a person not have him as his role model? It
beats me!
This is why I was saddened by the behaviour of the French
President Emmanuel Macron regarding the blasphemous cartoons of the Prophet ﷺ. Instead of denouncing and discouraging
the cartoons due to the sensitivity of the world’s 1.8 billion plus muslims, he
not only supported the cartoons, he also insisted that they won’t give up the
cartoons for any reason. Our Prophet’s honour it turns out is a free for all in
their attempt to express their liberty and freedom, at the same time, same people
can’t take insults on their persons. The blatant double standards and
hypocrisy. I don’t know a rational sensible person who will be okay with people
insulting his parents. The prophet ﷺ means much more to us than our parents. To
put things in context, Qur’an 9:24 reads as follows: ‘Say, (O Muhammad), “If
your fathers your sons, your brothers, your wives, your relatives, wealth which
you have obtained, commerce wherein you fear decline, and dwellings with which
you are pleased are more beloved to you than Allah and His Messenger and jihad
in His cause, then wait until Allah executes His command. And Allah does not guide
the defiantly disobedient people”.’ It can be seen that each true believer is
expected to love the Prophet ﷺ
more than himself or his wealth or his relatives.
Because of the overwhelming love true muslims have for the
Prophet ﷺ, insults on his person would naturally
anger us. And even the laws of the kuffar recognise crimes of passion. I am not
justifying jungle justice, but many crimes are fuelled by negative emotions. And
an efficient way of reducing crimes is by reducing provocations and promoting
amicable relationships. So please and please, insulting the Prophet is a serious
provocation to muslims. And I would like to state that anyone who wants to have
any sort of relationship with me should understand that insulting the prophet
would mean us severing our ties. Period.
Back to the topic. The greatest human to ever walk this earth
is our Prophet ﷺ.
No argument. I can’t imagine living my life as a non-Muslim. The blessing of
being among the chosen believers is unquantifiable. I would forever be grateful
to Allah for making me a Muslim, and I am a Muslim because Allah sent Prophet Muhammad
ﷺ, the seal of the Prophets to bring us this
perfected religion. This is why non muslims wouldn’t understand the love we
have for the person through which we got the blessing of Islam, a perfect
complete way of life.
He lived a balanced life. He was both a spiritual and
political leader. He was super patient and he lived a modest life, in spite of
being the most loved of Allah’s servants. He could have easily been the
wealthiest ever but he chose a modest life. His character was impeccable. No faults
whatsoever. Every time I study his life, I am convinced that those who insult
him don’t know him. They never read about him. Anyone who insults him after
reading and learning about this perfect man must be suffering from some kind of
mental disorder. There, I’ve said it.
I would conclude by praying that Allah increases His
blessings on his Noble Prophet, the last and the leader of all Prophets ﷺ.
